UPDATE: KINGSTON Maurward College has withdrawn a controversial plan to build a huge housing development in a tiny village immortalised by author Thomas Hardy. The college had submitted a planning application to build up to 70 homes on land at Lower Bockhampton, a hamlet near Dorchester that currently has just 28 houses.
